Privacy Policy

ShotDemo is run by Narendra K Ram in India. This page explains what we collect when you use ShotDemo, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions: email@shotdemo.com.

What we collect

• Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, your email address and a Google account id. We do not receive your Google password.
• Your projects. The website address you give us, the pages our server captures from it, the screenshots, logo and music you upload, the text you write or approve (descriptions, captions, the script) and the videos we render.
• Payments. Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, handles the payment itself: it collects your name, email address, billing country (and address where tax needs it) and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive the payment id, the amount, the currency, the tax and whether it succeeded. We never see your full card or bank details.
• Usage counts. How many free previews, AI requests and website scans your account used in the last day, so we can keep free use fair.
• Your messages. The emails you send us, so we can answer them and see the history when you write again.
• Visits. Which pages of this website and steps of the app are opened, through Google Analytics: without cookies unless you allow them (see Cookies).

Why we use it

To sign you in, to make and deliver your videos, to take and verify payments, to answer you when you write to us, and to keep the service safe from abuse. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your screenshots or scripts to advertise to you.

Who helps us run ShotDemo

To make a video, parts of your project pass through these services:

• Google Firebase Authentication, for signing in with Google.
• Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini), which read your screenshots and text to write screen descriptions and the script.
• Microsoft Azure AI Speech, which turns the script into the voice-over.
• Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which runs the checkout, charges the tax and sends the invoice.
• Oracle Cloud (servers in India), where your projects and messages are stored, videos are rendered and our emails to you are sent from.
• Cloudflare, which delivers this website, receives the emails you send us and may store your finished videos for download.

Each of them handles the data under their own privacy terms and only to provide their service to us.

Google Analytics measures visits to this website and the app, without cookies unless you allow them in the cookie banner; it receives none of your project (see Cookies).

Website capture

When you give us a website address, our server opens the public pages of that site and takes screenshots, the way a visitor's browser would. Only give us sites you are allowed to show in a video.

Cookies

We set a cookie to keep you signed in and, if you pick a light or dark theme, one that remembers it. Neither is used to follow you.

Google Analytics measures visits to this website and the app. It runs in Google's consent mode, and the first time you visit, a banner asks whether it may set cookies:

• Until you answer, and if you decline: Google Analytics sets no cookies and keeps no identifier. It receives only cookieless signals that a page was opened or a step was taken, which Google turns into aggregate counts.
• If you allow it: it also sets its own cookies, _ga and one starting with _ga_, kept for up to two years, so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one.

Either way:

• It tells us how many people visit, which pages they open, where they came from, their kind of device and browser, and their rough location (country or city).
• In the app, it tells us which steps people take: signing in, starting a free preview, opening the checkout and paying (the payment's id and amount, not who paid).
• It never receives your screenshots, scripts or videos, your email address or your payment details, and Google's advertising features are switched off.

Your answer is kept for six months in a cookie named shotdemo_consent, shared by this website and the app. To change it, choose Cookie settings at the bottom of any page of this website; declining there also deletes the Google Analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

Your projects and videos stay until you delete them: you can delete a project, with its screenshots and videos, from your projects page at any time. We may remove old free previews and projects that were never paid for after a period of no use, and we will say so on this page first. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Google Analytics keeps its detailed visit data for at most 14 months.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything in it, by writing to email@shotdemo.com from the email address you sign in with. We reply within 7 days.

Changes

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
